Thailand’s Wild Child Resort – Pattaya

PATTAYA – Many tourists think Thailand’s sin city, wild child resort, Pattaya, is so good they should have named it twice, but there are critics, who argue Pattaya’s lights should have been turned off years ago and its keys buried deep in its modest-looking sand. But Pattaya is Pattaya, and she’s very averse to change.

Pattaya is the sex city of Thailand and with around 2,000 beer bars and go go bars it’s easy to see why its disapproving critics group together with such a loud voice. But Pattaya has many good honest bars and scores of gourmet and gourmand type restaurants, but its Pattaya’s beer and go go bars which turn its harsher critics choleric.

Nightlife in Pattaya

For any beer swilling sex junkie Pattaya is the perfect place. They might well wonder if their aeroplane has crashed and they’ve not long waltzed through Heaven’s Immigration Control, because Pattaya is overflowing with sexy bar girls, red-hot go go girls and a ladyboy or two in-between. Pattaya nightlife has a taste to tempt everyone’s sexual taste buds, with the exception of its bellyaching critics.

Pattaya has party land and Pattayaland too. If you want to party, pop in your ear plugs and head for the loud music-filled counter bars in Soi (street) 7 & Soi 8. They are jam-packed with sexy, dance crazy bar girls who will willingly party the night away.

There are also plenty of scantily-clad girls in the go-go bars in Soi Pattayaland where anything goes on the proviso you have money for honey. And don’t miss Pattaya’s world-famous Walking Street (photo above right and below) which has a frothy glassful of shops, restaurants, street entertainment, beer bars, go-go bars and nightclubs.

Pattaya restaurants and daytime activities

Pattaya does however offer the more sober and timid type of person a modern city brimming with shopping malls, day and night markets, cinemas, internet cafes, a wide-range of sports, excellent value-for-money hotels, a fistful of decent day tours and a sun-kissed modest-looking beach.

Throw onto Pattaya’s ‘rubbished’ pile its hundreds of restaurants and you can spoon feed every taste under the sun and tongue, including, Thai, Indian, Chinese, most European, Middle Eastern and many more cuisines. Even fainthearted and cold-footed tourists will feel at ease exploring the more white-bread and vanilla parts of this wild child city.

Pattaya is an ideal holiday for any broad-minded and party-loving single person, and a damn good one for like-minded couples too, but it’s a bit of no-go destination for kids, certainly after dusk. Pattaya’s coastal style of sex and sin tourism is action packed and caters for the greatest party animal, but also offers plenty of attractions and alternative venues to suit both the camera snappy and more self-restrained type of tourist too.
