As Cunning as a Fox’s Tale – Samantha Fox

I think I may have hit on a perfect keyword focused post which just may get search engines purring. It’s the story of an ex topless model and a pussy. Add Thailand to the tale and every pervert who ever owned a PVC mac should arrive here shortly after I hit publish. This post is more cunning than a foxes tail.

Earlier this month former British Page 3 model Samantha Fox (photo source jeroen020) visited Koh Samui in Thailand and was bitten by a suspected rabid cat. For those not in the know Page 3 models have appeared in Britain’s biggest selling newspaper The Sun since 1970 and are often referred to as glamour models. A check on my online dictionary revealed glamour to mean ‘ having an air of allure, romance and excitement,’ and not ‘all boobs and bum.’

Back in the 80’s our Sam had the kind of assets most men wanted to get their hands on. London born lass Sam first appeared topless in The Sun newspaper back in 1983 at the age of 16 under the appropriate headline “Sam, 16, Quits A-Levels for Ooh-Levels”. She soon became Britain’s favourite pin up and her breasts were insured for £250,000 but in 1986 she retired from page 3 modelling to take up a career as a singer.

Samantha’s hit single Touch Me (I Want Your Body) released in 1986 reached the top 10 in both the UK and America charts. In 2003 Sam admitted to being in love with her female manager Myra Stratton and the press release confirmed her rumoured sexual status.

“But I can’t keep saying, ‘Maybe,’ or denying it. It is time to let people know where my heart is. People keep trying to say I’m a lesbian. I don’t know what I am. All I know is that I’m in love with Myra. I love her completely and want to spend the rest of my life with her.”

Sam’s singing career never touched the heights of her modelling one and now aged 44 she recently appeared in the reality TV show I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here. Sam’s 36D breasts were voted out on Day 16.

The diminutive North London girl and girlfriend Myra were holidaying on the beautiful island of Koh Samui when a cat (photo by Smath) proved two pussies are company but three’s a crowd. The former sex kitten was bitten by one of the island’s many stray cats.

The pair were dining at one of the paradise island’s restaurants when animal lover Sam was bitten on the finger by a cat she had been feeding.

‘I love animals, especially cats, but over there (Thailand) they’re treated like rats and are left to fend for themselves. I ended up feeding a lot of them, giving them bits of shellfish after dinner.

‘This one was laying on my feet and I thought we were getting on really well so I went to stroke him, but he bit me so hard, it went down to the bone.’

The restaurant owner said the feline was known locally as a ‘crazy cat’ and was a possible rabies carrier. Samantha immediately went to the island’s Lamai Medical Clinic where she received vaccinations against the disease. It’s good odds one of the clinic’s doctors suggested injecting the vaccine into her bottom, but only after massaging it with a good dab of tiger balm first. What else would you use on a sex kitten.

Since returning to the UK Sam has undergone a series of blood tests and has been given the all clear against the killer virus.

Rabies kills an estimated 55,000 people a year and is most active in parts of Africa and Asia. In Thailand some dogs, cats, monkeys and bats carry the disease and if you are bitten by an animal it is advisable to seek hospital treatment straight away. My apologies for this being such a cat (rubbish) post.

I remember thinking when Sam entered the charts it was the end of music. I’m sure she is a lovely person, but it just really proved to me that becoming popular in music was not about talent. I was suprised that she never formed a supergroup with Nick Kamen and Andrew Ridgeley.

  2. Hoo Don says:

Paul I doubt Sam will ever rival Tina Turner but viewing her website I read she has just brought out two singles recently. One of them has been released in the Netherlands. Perhaps she has a flat enough voice for their charts.

Your supergroup….I doubt you could fit three inflated egos into one photograph, the photo shoots would turn into a brawl.

I was a big fan of Sam in her heyday and like you, I reckon she’s probably one very bubbly lovely lass.

A plea for help. In the top left hand of the screen I have the following /> but I can’t figure out which theme template it is on. I’m guessing it’s the header template but I can’t find it on it. Can anyone help.

    Cheers HD.

  4. Mike says:

Martyn, great post that is sure to get the hit counter swinging in Bangkok.

Given that one should be extremely careful where you apply Tiger Balm, I hope the medic read the instructions!

I had a look at the page source on this page but can’t figure out where your /> is coming from.

  5. Hoo Don says:

Mike I’m not expecting big hits on this one but more of a steady flow. If google images pick up the Sam Fox photo it might get a few regular hits each day.

I didn’t know of the story but a friend at work mentioned he’d read it in the newspaper. I do get a few people who tell me about Thai related things knowing I write this blog. That’s handy.

Thanks for looking into the page source for me, I’ll try and fix it on my next day off. Back on the nightshift starting tonight.

    Martyn,

Did you just add the code for All in One Seo Pack to your header?

    To see what I mean…

    1) copy the code you are seeing at the top of your blog

    ” />

    2) In your browser…

Crome = developer >> view source >> and a new page will come up showing code. Do a find for ” />

FF = View >> Page Source >> ditto on the instructions.

The extra code is here (look for the double ” />

    ” />

  7. Hoo Don says:

Catherine, it can’t be All in One Seo because I have had it installed for a few months and as a direct plugin. I just activated it and that was that. I do have a Customs Headers and Footers plugin so I’ll look at that.

I appreciate your help and like I said to Mike I’ll have a real good go at it on my day off. Thanks for the browser tip and I’ll try it shortly. Bloody nights are calling again.

  8. Steve says:

Image that, a fox bitten by a cat :>)

Good to know she was ok after all. I understand the whole animal lover thing, but why don’t people know better than to try and get close to what are basically wild animals?

  9. Hoo Don says:

Hi Steve, Sam is a big animal lover and especially cats. A lot of tourists think these kind of animals are like the domesticated ones back home and that’s when they get a big shock. I certainly wouldn’t pet a stray moggie in Thailand. No way.

Great post and scoop (first time I’ve seen this news), in particular I appreciated:

“The diminutive North London girl and girlfriend Myra were holidaying on the beautiful island of Koh Samui when a cat (photo by Smath) proved two pussies are company but three’s a crowd.”

  11. Hoo Don says:

Jon I got told the story and got to work on it straight away. The newspapers reported it about two weeks ago but I haven’t seen a blog site which has covered it yet, though I could be wrong on that one.

    I’m a Sam fan. She’s lovely.

  12. Talen says:

Martyn, I remember when Samantha Fox was big in the states…she was indeed a fox back then. I see a lot of tourists petting stray cats and dogs in Thailand and even I have forgotten and done it occasionally…could be a recipe for disaster as the rabies rate in Thailand is high.

  13. Hoo Don says:

Talen I didn’t know Sam was big in the states, I guess it was for her modelling rather than singing.

I avoid cats in Thailand and am wary of soi dogs but not to the extent of showing fear of them, that would be a mistake.

I’m not sure on the actual percentage rate for rabies in Thailand but I did read a ridiculously high figure and chose to ignore it.

  14. Boonsong says:

On the strength of this one article I’ve decided to buy a doctor’s degree in Khao San Road and enroll for work in Koh Samui hospital! It looks like fun….
Re rabies: 10 years or so ago the Bitish NHS rated Thailand as similar risk to France (very low) which was less than some parts of the USA. I don’t know if the risk has changed since then.

    All the best, Boonsong

  15. Hoo Don says:

Boonsong reading between your lines I’d say you’ve lost your doctor’s license already on unprofessional grounds, do you need to carry all that tiger balm.

I don’t know the percentage rate of rabies in France but would guess it’s quite low. Thailand’s is probably higher but not by too much.

  16. Catherine says:

Martyn, just checking back if you tracked down your errant code… You know, if you just noticed it, it could have been there for awhile…

As for petting stray cats in Thailand – not me. Not going to happen. SE Asian strays are some of the mangiest I’ve seen anywhere, and I don’t want what they may have. Don’t get my wrong, I’m an animal lover…

  17. Snap says:

    Hi Martyn

You will find the page error on line 33 of your coding:
    ” />

    Delete the last 3 symbols.

    Cheers

  18. Hoo Don says:

Catherine and Snap – Thanks for all your help, I now just need to know which template I should edit. Also does a gap count as a line.

I’ve got used to the code in the top corner, it’s a bit like Charlotte’s Web but I guess it has got to go. I don’t want to mess with the templates until I know which definite one it is.

Thanks, you are two lovely kittens.

  19. Snap says:

I’ll email you, as this little box doesn’t accept coding.

  20. Hoo Don says:

Snap you little kitten sized genius, Charlotte’s Web is dead. It turned out to be from my All in One Webmaster plugin which has never worked. Thanks a million although I will miss it a bit.

  21. Snap says:

You’re very welcome…and hey, at least you know how to reinstate it if you miss it too much!

  22. Thailand Hotels says:

Always “fun” when things escalates out of the box like this story.

The truth is that Koh Samui has been a rabies free zone for more than 10 years, but what press would like to mention that? Then the story is gone already 😛
