I hope I won’t get emailed the riot act for publishing this photograph because I’m not sure of its original source. I picked it up from Facebook but I’m fairly confident its origin slithers elsewhere. I believe the photograph was taken in Chiang Mai but whoever took the picture has posed one big question to me….. Is the image photoshopped or not?…. I think the answer is no. How about you.

Martyn, I have absolutely no idea if that is photoshopped or not. For sure it is not every day you see a python being taken for a slither on a lead, but stranger things have happened. The husky/malamute is either looking apprehensive/unsure, or maybe just hungry for some chicken-tasting meat! Btw why do you think it is Chiang Mai?
I don’t think it’s photoshopped because the dog is being held on a very tight rein and like you say it looks apprehensive. The ‘snake’ lead is low on the ground too.
Why Chiang Mai…. I’m damned if I can remember. It’s probably not Chiang Mai but that name is lodged in my head for some reason. The person who posted it comes from Bangkok but I’m not confident it’s their picture.
Photoshop is so good these days, I can’t say yes or no. But what I’m left wondering is why anyone would take a big snake for a walk. Aren’t those things awfully slow?
Catherine – I’m not so sure those things ARE awfully slow, you wouldn’t want one coming after you.
I had an email (after I posted the picture) from someone pointing me to the snake walker’s YouTube page and the man has an obvious liking for snakes. I’m now 100% sure the picture is not photoshopped.
