I first wrote about Fuzzy Ken’s Bar and Restaurant in Udon Thani back in April 2011 and the post, like the bar, is still attracting regular visitors each week.  Fuzzy Ken’s brand is built on friendly service, very reasonably priced food and drinks, plus a library stacked high and wide with over 5000 used books for sale or exchange. Late last year Fuzzy Ken’s business brand added even more depth to its solid foundations when Ken launched the One Stop Food Shop at the bar’s premises.

Udon Thani has a large expat community who help support local Thai businesses by putting bums on restaurant seats and by spending their hi-spec pensions in hi-tech plaza stores.  However, western food in Udon Thani is big business too and Fuzzy Ken’s One Stop Food Shop aims to grab a chunk of the market by offering many favourite western food brands and delicacies at mouth-watering prices.

Fuzzy Ken’s food shop is at the back of the bar and if you can drag yourself away from your cold beer, steer your eyes clear of the wide selection of books, the food shop has a good choice of western chow and snacks to select from.

The freezer section has pies, pasties, bacon, burgers and sausages. There’s also a chiller cabinet with cheeses, pickles, butter, baps and bread.

The food shop has many popular western foods and snacks with more arriving shortly to nestle on the shelves next to big brand names like Heinz, HP, Oxo, Bisto, Colman’s and Lea & Perrins. That’s quite a saucy line-up already.

Fuzzy Ken’s is one of the most popular bars in Udon Thani for expats and tourists and is opposite Central Plaza on Prajak Road, It’s also an ideal stop-off for a meal, a cold beer and to nail a best-selling novel and some quality western groceries at Ken’s One Stop Western Food Shop.
